I have a private rural pond in S IL that is fed by a stream with a dam. Lily pads are overgrowing the dam end and the small pond. Is there an eco-friendly solution to this before the fish are suffocated etc? Past efforts have failed.

Could you send some photos of the pond and up-close shots of the plants? What have you tried in the past?

There is the option of aquatic herbicide but it could be tricky to use with a source of running water. Aquatic mowing might be an option or possibly drawdown if the pond is small.
