hi, I've lived in northern il. all my life(55). the last couple of years I have heard a very strange frog_like noise coming from a tree outside our house. the noise at first only came from 1 tree, now as i ride my bike at night i hear it all over the neighborhood. It stands out from the regular crickets and cicadas, and It also lasts longer in the season well past when the crickets and cicadas have gone quite. I have tried finding sound bits from different tree frogs that might be here, but nothing sounds like what I am hearing. Any clue? My neighbors are also puzzeld by the sound. Thanks Ed
