Skunks

We live in town and are having a problem with skunks. What steps do we need to take to get rid of them? Can we trap ourselves, do we need a permit, do we hire someone, etc.? If we have to hire someone, who is there in Bloomington/Normal that does this and how much do they charge? Thank you.

To trap the skunks yourself, you would need a permit from an Illinois Department of Natural Resources district wildlife biologist. A better solution would be to hire a licensed nuisance wildlife control operator. There are several that work in the Bloomington/Normal area.
