Ground squirrels

I live at country fair apartments in champaign IL and we have a community for gound squirrels that i can not Identify by looking at picture the closest looks like a round tailed ground squirrel. but I'm unsure of the area in which the squirrels live so, just curious what do we have, I have even seen them in the dumpsters, they make a very high pitched alarm call sound like a bird.
