I have raccoons tearing through my stuff and trash on my deck at my apartment. In South Dakota, I would just shoot them but we have much different laws than here. Can I legally set a Duke #1 Spring trap on my deck in westmont, IL?

Are you using sturdy trash cans with lids that can be secured/tied down? Removing whatever is attracting the raccoons to an area is usually the first step, rather than removing the raccoons. You can't legally trap raccoons in town without an animal removal permit from an Illinois Department of Natural Resources District Wildlife Biologist .
