Turkey Encounters

I work in a business in west Champaign and we have had a problem with a wild turkey frequenting the front door of the business. He likes looking at his reflection in the glass and is leaving droppings all over the front walkway area every morning. He (we aren't entirely sure if this is the same bird) started this last year when he would look at his reflection in the parked cars. He is quite bold and pretty unafraid of people. We like watching him but we are having to clean up the mess every day. What can we do to deter him from coming back?

Have you tried temporarily taping up some paper over the door to block the reflection? You may also have to go out and actively "shoo" the turkey away so that it is clear that it is not wanted in that location. Use a broom or walking stick to make sure the bird stays a safe distance.
