Hello my name is Steve and i live in Will county and one week ago i saw a strange animal along a river way that I have just now been able to come close to identifying. It looked like a fuzzy, burgundy color mongoose searching along the river on driftwood.Ive been asking around and someone said maybe a river otter and I looked it up and that was close but not it.Then I come across an animal called a PINE MARTEN,this is it,this is what i saw!But they are extint to this area for at least 100 years.i have no pics.my question is should I tell anyone?keep to my self? This is my favorite trail,I do not want it overun. If thats even a possiblilty.or should I tell others of this rare sight?advise please.much appreiciated
