Owl encounter

Would you have any idea why a Great Horned Owl would repeatedly visit my front porch? The owl appears healthy and has little fear of people. We have taken many photos of it. It eventually flies away only to return again. The Owl has been here several evenings now and can be approached but not too close or it flies off for a while.

My guess is that it is looking for love. Great Horned Owl courtship season starts in December. If you have small pets, be sure to keep them indoors when the owl is there. I'd love to see some of the photos. It's (usually) not everyday that a person gets such a guest.
