my cat attacted a 6-7 week old baby rabbit..I was able to get the baby away from h before and he killed him..Problem he has patches of hair that are missing as it looks like he may have been tried to be skinned alive...thankfully there is no broken bones and the baby rabbit is very alert and active. I am very worried about infection in there areas witht the skin gone. There was very little to almost o bleeding either...what can I do to help this lil fellow? If he lives I would like to keep him a s a pet as I have 2 other rabbits I have rescued to do familys not wanting them...Please help...tyvm

Good job on getting the rabbit away from the cat. That's no easy job. If the rabbit is alert it should be released where you found it. If you think the injuries are severe enough that it cannot be released, it should be sent to a wildlife rehabilitator. In TX you can find one at: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/wild/rehab/list/ I'm not sure what the law in Texas is for keeping wild rabbits as pets (it's illegal here in IL without a permit). So if you are still thinking along those lines, it would be worth checking into that.
