Hi, There is a Great Horned Owlet in my neighobor's tree that has Angel Wing. The parents are still feeding it, but it's sitting in the tree, day and night out in the open. I contacted Willowbrook Wildlife center and they said the owlet needs to be treated, but only if I can get it out of the tree and to them. I know better then to even attempt to try this. Is there a professional that I could contact that could help? Any suggestions or information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Heather Wenger

I've contacted the Illinois Department of Natural Resources district wildlife biologists who cover that area to alert them about the owl. If they do not contact you directly, I'll be in touch again soon with more information. Could you send a photo of the owl? Photos can be sent to lkammin@illinois.edu
