Too Many Garter Snakes!

Our yard is being overrun by garter snakes! We have always had some snakes in the yard but this year they are everywhere and over the weekend we saw MANY, MANY smaller snakes coming from under some plants in our yard (as if they were young snakes leaving a nest). I don't mind having a few snakes around but am worried about them getting into our house or crawl space. Would appreciate more info on them (will they leave the nest and venture off? will they return next year to the same spot?) and some help in getting rid of them. Thanks!

The snakes will disperse on their own. Are you having any trouble with them getting into the house?

They do seem to have dispersed. I'm guessing maybe this happens every year and we just have not been out there to see them all leaving the nest in the past. We have seen one or two larger ones since then but all of the smaller ones seem to be gone. We have not had any problem with them in the house (thank goodness!) so I think we are all good. :) Thanks!
