i live on lake springfield, and a goose with an injured foot appeared in my yard about a month ago. there's a big gash running along the crease between the foot and the leg. we've been feeding it bird food, and giving it water, and i've seen it swim away at night, then comes back most days. is there anything at all that can be done for the goose? he hobbles around the yard, and i just wish somehow his leg could be fixed.

How is the goose doing? Any improvement with its foot?

No, his foot still looks bad and he's still limping.

Neither of the licensed wildlife rehabilitators in Sangamon County are permitted to handle birds. Hopefully the goose will recover on its own. The fact that it has made it a month is a good sign.
