I noticed a skunk around my home that constantly cicles the area in broad daylight...is this natural or could it be rabid?

Is it making tight circles or just generally walking around the yard? If it is walking in small circles it is either sick or has head trauma. Either way, do not go near it. Call your local animal control office to see if they will send an officer out to remove the skunk.
