Last night about 11pm, we heard sounds like screaming and our pony, then heard hooves as all of the other horses ran into the barn. This morning we found one of our ponies grazing, with what looks like claw marks on her rear and what looks like a bit on her lower right hind leg. We are in northeastern Stephenson County, about 15 miles south of the WI border. What type of animal that lives in our area would leave large claw marks on a pony? I do have pictures, if that would help.
