Injured Hummingbird

I have a hummingbird that lost its tail feathers, probably from an attack by another bird. It's been about a week and the tail feathers are starting to grow back and it can fly a little. By the time its ready to be released it will be too late to migrate. All the other hummers have already left (Chicago south suburb). I am working with a licensed wildlife rehabber but would appreciate your opinion.

Let it go as soon as you can.
