Hi. I live in the eastern U.S. and live in a small city. Grey squirrels are a common sight. Today I saw something that has left me scratching my head. Early this morning a neighborhood cat killed an adult squirrel and left it at the base of a tree. Later, as I was leaving my house, I saw another squirrel about two feet from it. I figured he was checking it out. I thought that was kind of weird so I watched for a few minutes until I started to feel like the squirrel was looking at me like I did it so I said to it, "Dude, it wasn't me!", and went on my way. lol This is the part that boggled my mind--later on I discovered the dead squirrel draped over a small branch in a tree beside the one he was dead on the ground by about 12 or so feet off the ground!! I'm positive the other squirrel drug it up there and my question is why and is this unheard of? I've never seen anything like it before! I took pictures of the dead squirrel in the tree, btw. Thank you for any input.
