coyote or fox

This morning I was in Broadview Il. At 13th st & 15th avenue. A severly emaciated coyote or fox was licking berries off of a driveway. Other cars stopped and people thought it was a fox. It was hard to tell because it is skin and bones. It can walk but hobbles. Apparently people have seen it in that area for a week or so. It's obvious from its condition that it's starving to death. I can't find anyone to help it. I notified Broadview police but they can't do much about it. Called Willowbrook wildlife but they only take animals from DuPage county. Broadview is in cook county. Also tried the animal welfare league. They claimed they would take it if the animal was trapped and brought to them. This poor animal really needs help. Even if it had to be humanely euthanized it would be better off than the suffering it's going through. Plesse find someone to help it. Thank you.

Hello Karen, Did the animal have missing fur and wrinkled or scabby looking skin around the head or neck? I'm wondering if it wasn't a fox (or possibly a coyote) with mange. Is the animal still there?
