3 dead squirrels in 1 month

Found one 2 weeks ago, wrapped it in garbage bags and threw it in the trash. It remained in the garbage can for 2 weeks. Garbage men someties just take the large bags out and don't dump the can. After the can was dumped today, I could still smell something foul and found 2 more dead squirrels under my back steps. Very strange-I've lived here 15 years and never had this happen before. I love the squirrels. Could someone be poisoning them?

People do weird things, so someone could be poisoning wildlife. Sometimes people will put out things trying to deal with one kind of unwanted wildlife and end up killing cats, dogs, or other wildlife that accidentally get into whatever was set out. But it could also just be a local outbreak of something that will quickly run its course. Or, occasionally, several juvenile squirrels in an area will die. Without testing the animals it isn't possible to know for sure what is going on.
