We have two squirrels whose tails are a white/dark grey color. These tails also do not seem to have the ability to curl over their backs. The tails just stay straight. Any ideas what caused this. This is the first time we have seen this.

Likely just a genetic mutation. I haven't seen any squirrels with that condition. I'd love to see photos if you've got any. You could send them to me at lkammin@illinois.edu.
