Large Predators

Does anyone know if there's been confirmed recent sightings of any "large predators" in the Boone County area? Several nights in a row we have had "something" after our horses and had them extremely terrified. Heard "rumors" of a large cat in the area.

I have received several reports of a mountain lion in northwest IL recently, but none of the sightings have been confirmed. I'd encourage you to send in a sighting report at: http://web.extension.illinois.edu/wildlife/sightings_report.cfm I send the reports I receive to the Illinois Department of Natural Resources wildlife biologists who cover those areas.
