Hello. I have found 5 dead raccons on my 7 acre property in the past 6 days. A friend found one (so far) on his 50 acre property 3 miles away today (3/22/09.) There doesn't appear to be any visible reason for death. They all appeared to be "healthy." Is there a killer virus in the area? Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Good afternoon, Typically animals with disease would show signs of the disease and would not appear "healthy". Given the number of animals in such a small area I wonder if someone has poisoned these animals? Can you provide any more details about the animals' appearance or the locations where they were found? The carcasses should not be handled directly no matter how the animals died.
