snake den

I recently discovered what appears to be a snake den in our yard. It is too close for comfort, since it is about 10 feet from my children"s playset. How can we deal with it, and can you identify a species by the look of their den? I have a photo of the den if you would like to see it.

I would need to see one of the snakes to identify what species is there. Are you sure that it is not a burrow made by a mammal? Please e-mail me the photo at lkammin@illinois.edu
